Slick roads expected as light snow develops

Weather Video Forecast

December 26th, 2018 – Winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings are in place through the day for the Sangre de Cristos and the San Juans where at least 6″ will fall. Sections of I-40 and I-25 will become slick throughout the day as light snow develops. The odds of accumulations in the metro are looking slim but further east near Tramway, light accumulations are possible. All of the mountains will pick up snow today into tonight.

Accumulations on the roads are possible Thursday morning, especially near Raton Pass where a winter storm warning is in place. The northern mountains will continue to get scattered snow on Thursday. Another storm will begin to impact the area late Thursday into Friday. Widespread snow is likely and accumulations in the metro look possible. This storm will be much colder, which will increase snow ratios allowing for heft snow totals in the mountains.
