More snow expected to impact I-25 overnight

Snow showers and winds will intensify along I-25 later tonight between Las Vegas and Raton. Wait until tomorrow morning to drive to Colorado. Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies and light snow in the mountains. Things flare up again in the northwest by sunset for round two. This storm will bring snow to almost every part of the state. The worst of the storm will be before noon on Friday. Light snow will continue throughout the day. The eastern plains will get the brunt of the storm early Saturday. Things will completely clear out on Sunday.

This weekend will be cold. Even though the sun will be out, the snow will be slow to melt. Overnight lows in the teens and single digits will create icy roads. New Year’s Eve brings another system. It looks like it’ll snow in the mountains and possibly Santa Fe. The odds of snow in Albuquerque are close to zero. The start of 2019 brings below average temperatures. January 1st in Albuquerque has a low temperature of 14 degrees.
