Kristen’s Wednesday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

WEDNESDAY: Freezing fog continues to be an issue for parts of east-central and northeast NM early Wednesday… but sunshine should mix out any leftover low clouds by late morning. The majority of us can expect a mix of sun and clouds through the day with temperatures near to above average for this time of year (50s, 60s and 70s). A storm system scraping to our north will fire up the wind machine over NM — breezy to windy conditions expected (strongest winds overnight in Sangre de Cristo Mountains & east slopes). There will be at least a little good out of this set-up as spotty showers are likely within northwest NM and southern CO. Minor snow accumulations +9000ft.

THURSDAY: Spotty showers will linger over the higher terrain of northwest NM and southern CO. Breezy to windy conditions (10-20mph) will also stick around for another day. Afternoon highs will continue to climb with ABQ near 70ยฐ by late afternoon.

FRIDAY: Another storm will move in Friday into the weekend. This storm looks to have a better track and more moisture tied to it. Expect scattered showers to favor northern, western and central NM late Friday into Saturday with a mix of rain and snow. Strong winds will be the biggest frustration with this storm as winds are expected to rip across southern and eastern NM. Cooler air filling in behind the attached cold front will drop temps close to 10ยฐ into the start of the weekend (more 40s & 50s).
