Strong winds higher up in the atmosphere will mix down to the surface making for a WINDY Wednesday afternoon.
Expect winds to exceed +25mph sustained, gusting to 50-60mph in the mountain areas. Afternoon highs will be mild (40s, 50s and 60s) but feel colder due to these winds. No rain or snow is expected midweek.
High-pressure building over the state will result in mostly quiet conditions Thursday and Friday. Another round of wind in addition to low humidity (DRY) will increase fire concerns across eastern NM on Friday afternoon.
