Kristen’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

Overnight showers continue to dissipate out east leaving behind a mostly to partly cloudy sky to start our Tuesday. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will return to parts of central and eastern NM with drier conditions out west. There is potential for storms to be strong to severe — threats: hail and damaging winds.

As drier air wraps around the bottom of a storm system sitting in southern Nevada, gradual clearing will continue from west to east across New Mexico. Wednesday’s rain and t-storm chances look to be confined to eastern NM… far east and southeast on Thursday… before completing clearing by Friday.

Tuesday will mark ‘day one’ of this week’s warming trend expected to last through this weekend. Expect highs to top out in the low 80s across the Rio Grande Valley Tuesday afternoon… climbing to the low 90s by Friday.
