Kristen’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

Drier air will start to work into the state, working against our moisture-rich set-up the state’s been in over the last several days. Afternoon storms will favor the higher terrain of western and northern NM… with drier conditions further south and east. Any developed storm has potential to drop heavy rain causing flooding, gusty winds and small hail. Tuesday’s high temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than Monday, leaving most of us in the 80s and 90s.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH in effect for the higher terrain of northern NM (Sangre de Cristo, Jemez and San Juan Mountains) and recent burn scars — 12PM Tuesday to midnight.

Afternoon highs will continue to climb with more 90s and low 100s on the map by Wednesday. Spot storms will hug the mountain areas across New Mexico with only isolated storms possible in the surrounding lower elevations. High pressure moving into the area will keep storm chances low and temperatures warm for the remainder of the work week.
