Kristen’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

TUESDAY: A slow moving storm just south of NM will continue to trek east through the day. Another round of widespread showers, isolated thunderstorms and mountain snow will stretch over NM Tuesday morning through evening. We’re still seeing accumulating snow in the Northern Mountains with storm totals still on track to reach 10″-20″. Any thunderstorm development will generally be non-severe with the exception being the far south & east portions of Eddy & Lea County (slight risk). The cost of this storm will come at the expense of our afternoon temperatures as we drop ~10° from Monday’s readings, leaving most of us below average for this time of year — 50s, 60s and 70s.

WEDNESDAY: As the mentioned storm conitnues to move east into Texas, rain and t-storms will follow. A few spot showers will likely linger… but the overall trend will favor warmer and drier weather. Afternoon temperatures will jump back to near seasonal averages with highs in the low 70s in the Albuquerque-metro.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY: Temperatures will continue to warm with more of us in the 70s and 80s to finish the work week. Overall, more sunshine and relatively quiet weather will take over. The expecption to that trend will be the Northern Mountains where a few spotty storms will be possible over the higher terrain.
