Kristen’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

A weak cold front passing over eastern NM on Tuesday will shave a few degrees off afternoon highs — leaving the Northeast Plains in the 30s and 40s / Southeast Plains warming into the 50s. Western NM will see *warmer temps compared to Monday with most locales in the 40s and 50s. The Albuquerque-metro area will see afternoon highs in the mid-40s — near to just a couple degrees warmer than average for this time of year. Skies will be mostly to partly sunny with more clouds expected further south as a stream of subtropical moisture continues to move into the state.

Enough moisture moving in from the southwest will give southern NM a shot at light rain both Wednesday and Thursday. Drier conditions will be found further north. Most of the state will see high temps peak on Thursday afternoon — Albuquerque likely to see temps in the low 50s.

Models (although, still somewhat inconsistent) are showing the potential for more active weather late week into the weekend. This includes a chance for rain and snow by Sunday. Details to come as that storm gets closer.
