Kristen’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

For the second morning in a row, patchy freezing fog is plaguing parts of New Mexico making for a difficult morning drive. A FREEZING FOG ADVISORY is in effect for parts of the Southeast Plains until 8AM. Later in the day, a mix of sun and clouds will blanket the area with afternoon highs climbing near to just above normal for this time of year (most of us in the 30s, 40s and 50s — 60s in the southeast corner).

The big story over the next 24 hours will be a storm moving through Tuesday night into Wednesday bringing rain and snow to parts of northwest NM. Accumulating snowfall of 1-5″ is likely for areas +7500’… with potential for +10″ over 9500′. Those within central and west-central NM have a shot at a few spotty showers but accumulations will be slim to none and coverage will be better across the northwest highlighands and Northern Mountains.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect from 9PM Tuesday to 8PM Wednesday for accumulating snowfall.

Another storm has eyes on NM Thursday night into Friday. Expect to finish the work week with more widespread rain and snow with a drop in temps to follow.
