Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

Rain and snow showers will continue to favor the northwest corner of NM Thursday morning while the rest of us wake up to a mostly cloudy sky and cool temps (30s, 40s and 50s). Afternoon temperatures won’t be anything we have to worry about as Thursday’s highs climb above averge statewide — ABQ: 56°.

Our next big weather maker (in combination with *plenty of moisture being pulled off the Pacific) will bring widespread rain and snow to northern and western NM Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. Given the relatively warm nature of this set-up, snow levels will remain high (+8000ft). However, areas that do see snow will be favored for quite a bit — potential snow totals could top over 2′ for areas +10,000ft.

Breezy to windy conditions will once again plague the northeast corner of NM for most of the day Thursday. More wind is expected Friday and Saturday afternoon as yet another storm crosses the state. Light snow showers will fill in over the Northern Mountains on Saturday as well.

Our third storm in the series looks to be colder and stronger — expect more widespread snow chances by early next week.
