Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

THURSDAY: A nice day ahead with afternoon highs above normal in the 60s, 70s and 80s across NM. Dry, westerly flow will push out yesterday’s cloud cover giving way to much more sunshine statewide. Winds will be breezy at times (near 15mph). Unforunately, this combo of dry, breezy and warmer than average temps will result in increasing fire concerns — be cautious of any outdoor flames.

FRIDAY: Stronger winds will take over Friday with widespread wind gusts of 25-35mph expected… up to 45-55mph gusts along and east of the Northern and Central Mountains. Temperatures will begin to cool across western and central NM behind a weak Pacific cold front. It’s even possible that a few spot showers break out near the northern stateline. The majority of us will see a mostly sunny and dry sky.

WEEKEND: A stronger cold front will push northeast to southwest on Saturday. This backdoor cold front will knock 20-30 degrees off afternoon highs in the Eastern Plains… leaving most below average for this time of year. Strong east canyon winds will accompany this front into the ABQ-metro with temps down to the low 60s to close out the weekend.
