Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

A mix of sun and clouds will blanket the state Thursday with hot temperatures underneath. Expect highs to soar well into the 80s, 90s and low 100s — downtown Albuquerque: 95°. Moisture creeping in from the south will be enough for a handful of spot thunderstorms to develop… but not quite enough for full-fledge rain showers. Gusty winds and lightning will be the top concerns out of any developed thunderstorm with only spotty rainfall (at best).

A similar day will unfold Friday with dry thunderstorms, warm temps and mostly to partly sunny skies over the state. Best coverage of isolated to spotty storms will be found over southern and eastern NM Friday afternoon.

More moisture coming in from the south will beef up our rain chances on Saturday afternoon. Spotty to scattered storms are possible over eastern NM and the high country with a couple isolated storms in the Rio Grande Valley.

Afternoon highs will stay in the 80s and 90s for most of us over the weekend — closer to average for this time of year.
