Despite an area of high pressure sliding a bit further into New Mexico, enough moisture will remain over the area to fire off another round of afternoon/evening storms. Best storm coverage will favor the mountains with spotty storms expected elsewhere. Majority of these storms will stay beneath the severe threshold, although, localized flooding remains a high concern. Afternoon highs will remain above average statewide with widespread 80s and 90s.
Friday will favor even better storm coverage as the mentioned area of high pressure slides out of the way. Expect scattered to widespread storms Friday afternoon/evening. Temperatures will stick to the 70s, 80s and 90s.
A slight drying trend will get underway for the weekend, limiting rain chances but not ridding them completely. Expect scattered storms to favor the mountain areas with an isolated storm chance elsewhere. Afternoon highs will stay warmer than normal for this time of year.
