Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

A busy day of storms and showers on tap with Thursday looking to be the most active day in the 7Day. Rain chances will stretch statewide with top concerns being heavy rain causing localized flooding, lightning and gusty winds. Temperatures will be much cooler than what was felt earlier in the week — expect highs to top out in the 70s and 80s (below average for this time of year).

Drier air pushing in from the northwest will push rain chances east leaving western NM with only a few spot storms on Friday. Increased storm coverage will be found within central and eastern NM. Same threats apply: heavy rain (localized flooding), gusty winds and lightning. Afternoon highs will be comfortable in the 70s and 80s (ABQ-metro: low 80s).

This weekend will feature high pressure building in over the state, drying us out and warming us up. Spotty storms will linger over the higher terrain and Northeast Plains. The majority of us can expect mostly sunny conditions and temps in the 80s.
