Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

THURSDAY: A quiet and cool start to the day with morning temps in the 30s, 40s and 50s under a mostly clear sky. Afternoon temps will climb above yesterday’s readings (and above seasonal normals at that) with highs well into the 50s, 60s and 70s across NM (Albuquerque: 79°). Skies will favor mostly to partly sunny conditions with more clouds and spotty storms in the Northern Mountains and Northeast Plains. An incoming cold front will act as a trigger for these storms… however, coverage will not be statewide. ABQ will likely get stuck with the winds out of this set-up with breezy conditions out of the east picking up late evening / overnight.

FRIDAY: A similar look and feel to Thursday, Friday will feature mostly sunny conditions across the area with spotty storms in the mix late day. Most of these storms will favor the Northern Mountains, however, a few isolated storms may fire elsewhere. Afternoon highs will continue to warm with temps breaking into the 80s in the ABQ-metro.

WEEKEND: A weak disturbance will move into the state and allow a handful of storms to develop over the high country of northern NM. Outside of that, the majority of us can expect a mostly sunny sky, warmer than average temperatures and breezy conditions both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
