Video Forecast

Thursday will feature mostly sunny conditions and normal-like temps by January standards. Expect high temps to climb well into the 40s, 50s and 60s with high clouds streaming in over the state.

The big focus in the short-term forecast will be a quick-hitting storm moving in late Thursday into Friday. Rain and mountain snow showers will move into the Four Corners area by Thursday evening… continuing to push southeast into northern and western NM through Friday morning. Accumulations will range anywhere from 3-6″ in southern Colorado, 1-3″ within northwest NM and 4-12+” within the higher terrain (+8000ft).

On the down side, strong winds will be a huge problem within southern NM with gusts between 50-65mph likely Friday afternoon. A HIGH WIND WATCH has been issued for parts of central and eastern NM with a WIND ADVISORY issued further south.

This winter storm will exit the state Saturday leaving behind a mostly sunny sky and chilly temps (below average).
