Kristen’s Monday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

We’ll start the new work week with scattered to widespread afternoon storms and showers — favoring those within western and northern NM. Heavy rain, small hail and gusty winds are possible out of any developed storm. Flash flooding will be a high risk as slow moving thunderstorms are likely to drop a significant amount of rain in a short amount of time — a FLASH FLOOD WATCH has been issued for most of the higher terrain of western and northern NM, including recent burn scars and areas hit hard by weekend storms.

Drier air punching in from the southeast will limit rain chances on Tuesday. Expect scattered storms to favor western and northern NM… with more sunshine and drier conditions further east. A few spot storms are possible in the ABQ-metro. Afternoon highs will rise a few degrees over Monday’s readings, leaving most of us us in the 70s,  80s and 90s.

Our warming and drying trend will continue late week with more sunshine and above average temps (more 90s and low 100s) expected both Thursday and Friday.
