Kristen’s Monday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

We’ll kickoff the new work week with mild afternoon temperatures in the 70s, 80s and low 90s under a mostly to partly sunny sky. You’ll find more cloud cover within northwest NM as a few spot showers try and form near the western stateline… but coverage will be limited. Winds will be breezy for those north of I-40 as a storm system crosses to our north.

This week’s weather maker will come in the form of a strong backdoor cold front Tuesday into Wednesday. Expect breezy to windy conditions to follow the front into the state… along with deep moisture that will help scattered to widespread storms and showers develop across the area. Moisture will have a hard time reaching the far northwest so the Four Corners will have the lowest rain chances. Temperatures will also take a noticeable hit as the Eastern Plains will lose 20° to 30° between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Things will be back to normal Thursday into Friday with more sunshine, dry conditions and a steady warm up into the weekend.
