Kristen’s Friday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

Near record highs and triple digit heat will be common across New Mexico on Friday. Expect highs to climb well into the 90s and low 100s by late day — Albuquerque forecast high: 100°. Sunshine will stretch over the area.. but like what we’ve seen earlier in the week, clouds will develop and storms will begin to form over the far Northeast Plains. There is potential for storms to be strong to severe.

Gusty winds will also be a concern Friday as westerly breezes reach 15-25mph within central and northern NM. Winds in combination with hot temps and low humidity will raise fire concerns across northern NM — a RED FLAG WARNING is in effect for increased fire danger from 12PM to 9PM.

We’ll continue the hot, mostly dry and sunny conditions on Saturday. Expect highs to return to the 80s,  90s and low 100s… still above average for this time of year.

A storm passing to our north will crank up the winds again on Sunday… with temps dipping a few degrees form Saturday.
