Kristen’s Friday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

A pleasant finish to the work week with Friday’s afternoon highs climbing into the 70s, 80s and 90s under a mostly sunny sky. Winds will be light and rain/thunderstorms are not expected within statelines. A backdoor cold front will sweep across northeast NM Friday morning and push south and west throughout the day. This front will not bring any moisture but will drop temps in its wake.

This weekend will feature plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures statewide. Friday’s front will cool temperatures 10°-15° in the southeast Saturday afternoon, however, temps will still be in the 80s — mild for this time of year.

Changes arrive by early next week as high pressure shifts east and allows moisture to return to the state. At this point in time, it does look like western and northwest NM will get a shot at moisture brought in with remnants of what is now Hurricane Rosa. Heavy rain and localized flash flooding risks will increase Monday through Wednesday. Expect a slight drop in temps to follow as well.
