Kristen’s Friday Morning Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

Morning rain and snow will continue over northern and western NM early Friday, making for a slippery commute to work and school. In addition, thick fog will reduce visibility within the Rio Grande Valley and southwest corner of the state. Through the day, fog will mix out and snow will favor northern and northeastern NM. Accumulations will range between 3-6″ below 7500ft / +6″ in the high country.

Saturday will feature leftover snow showers in the Northern Mountains… but clearing expected elsewhere. A mix of sun and clouds will blanket the state with cooler temps expected Saturday afternoon (mostly 30s, 40s and 50s). A backdoor cold front sweeping through in from the east/northeast will kick up the winds as it progresses. Don’t be surprised to see an east canyon wind pick up late Saturday in the ABQ-metro area.

Our next storm will arrive late Saturday into Sunday brining more rain and snow to the state. This storm isn’t quite as strong but with colder air in the area, more snow and less rain is expected to close out the weekend. Afternoon highs will bottom out in the low 40s in downtown Albuquerque on Sunday.

High pressure building over the state will allow for drier conditions, more sunshine and a gradual warm up to start our next work week.
