Kristen’s Friday Morning Forecast

Video Forecast

Lingering showers will hug the higher terrain on Friday before clearing late day. Majority of us in the lower elevations will start the day with a cloudy sky before sunshine makes a break for it Friday afternoon. Temperatures will climb 5°-15° above seasonal averages allowing most of NM to finish off the work week in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Our next storm in the series arrives late Friday night into Saturday. This storm will bring snow showers to northwest and northern NM through midday Saturday — potential accumulations: 1″ -3″ for lower elevations / 3″-6″ high terrain. Those of us furhter south will see a mix of sun and clouds plus more wind (bummer!) In addition, the cold front attached to this system will begin dropping temps Saturday afternoon with the ABQ-metro falling more than 5° from Friday’s temps. Expect the cooling trend to continue through middle of next week.

A stronger and colder storm looks to make waves early next week with widespread showers (mostly snow), colder temps and windy conditions Monday into Tuesday. Stay tuned for details.
