A cold front will move in tonight, halting the warm up for one day across eastern New Mexico Thursday. The east will also have the shot to pick up a few spot storms Thursday afternoon. The ridge of high pressure sitting to the west will win out Friday, causing temperatures to soar well above average. Albuquerque will close in on 100°, while the south and east will climb well into the 100s.
The heat continues into the weekend and early next week. Right now, it appears New Mexico will be without any significant moisture until the end of the month when the monsoon flow could possibly start to set up. Given than is a week and a half away, take that forecast with a grain of salt.
