Expect another round of showers and storms this afternoon, especially across central and eastern New Mexico. Areas along and east of the central mountain chain are under a marginal risk for severe weather and have the best shot across New Mexico of seeing severe storms. Meanwhile, drier air works into the western third of the state, limiting storm chances there.
That drier air will continue to push the moisture out of the state through the end of the week. As this happens, expect more sunshine and warmer temperatures heading into the Memorial Day weekend.
