It’s going to be hot, dry, and windy across New Mexico and Southern Colorado this afternoon. Definitley not the news you want to hear with the 416 Fire north of Durango and the Ute Park Fire in northern New Mexico. Afternoon highs across the southeast will soar well into the 100s this afternoon.
The good news is that a cold front will start to cool temperatures over the weekend. Then southerly moisture will combine with lift from a area of low pressure to kick off a good round of showers and storms across the state Sunday into early Monday. Once the low exits, the hot and dry conditions will resume for next week.
