A lot of places are starting to get above their monsoon rainfall average. More, widespread rain is in the forecast. Tonight will bring scattered thunderstorms across the state. If you’re going to the fair, this would be the one night to bring an umbrella. Drier air will begin to move in Friday, but there will still be plenty of moisture for storms. Some storms Friday night could be intense towards Santa Fe and the northern mountains.
The weekend will bring warmer and drier air. Showers won’t be impossible, but they will be hard to find. Early next week will bring a strong high pressure over the Southwest. This will cutoff just about all the monsoon moisture. A rebound for showers looks promising about 7 or 8 days out.
