Hurricane Rosa’s track continues to be predictable and accurate. The forecast remains true that Arizona will receive, by far, the most amount of rain out of the decaying tropical system. New Mexico is still in position to get rain on Monday and Tuesday from this storm. The highest rainfall for our area will be in northwest New Mexico and southern Colorado. Albuquerque’s best chance of rain will be Tuesday evening. Thunderstorms are likely by 7 pm.
The leftovers of Rosa will merge into a trough. This pocket in the jet stream will continue to deepen into the weekend. Showers, particularly north, will be possible throughout the week. The southeast corner will occasionally get thunderstorms. Saturday looks promising for strong thunderstorms near the Texas border. Temperatures will be consistently at or below average as we get into the first few days of Balloon Fiesta.
