Light snow will turn into heavy snow in the northern mountains tonight. Our best chance at a rain shower in Albuquerque is when the front passes at 9 PM. It’s possible we could get a shower as early as 3 PM. The snow elevation will be above 8,000’, so Santa Fe is out of the mix for accumulations. Winds will get stronger tonight as well, but the big story remains the snow. Some of the highest peaks could get two feet of snow by Sunday.
Temperatures will be close to average this week in Albuquerque. The eastern plains will have temperatures all over the place. As this weekend storm goes down, a backdoor cold front will push into southeast New Mexico. We’ll have another disturbance Wednesday night that will bring additional mountain snow.
