Things will be as calm as can be this weekend before active weather slams New Mexico. Skies should be mostly clear above Albuquerque today and Sunday. Temperatures will be cool in the morning and end up being slightly below average in the afternoon.
A closed low will pull in a lot of Pacific moisture on Monday. This slow moving storm will give the entire state rain through Tuesday. Precipitation becomes spotty on Wednesday with stronger winds. Additional disturbances will keep snow showers alive in the northern mountains Thursday and Friday. Before then, the mountains will accumulate one to two feet of snow. Embedded thunderstorms are likely in the eastern plains Monday and Tuesday evening.
