Connor’s New Year’s Eve Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

Interstate travel is going to quickly become impossible. Snowfall totals will explode across the northern mountains and eastern plains as the backdoor cold front makes its move. This front will cause the canyon winds to flair up tonight. The snow hole phenomenon will prevent metro accumulations until roughly 11 AM New Year’s Day. Snow will be possible until Wednesday morning in Albuquerque. The storm will linger into Wednesday. Models suggest we’ll get one more wave of snow Wednesday evening before this beast finally moves into Texas.

I recommend staying off the highways until Thursday at the earliest. Temperatures will be so cold that it will take multiple days to see improvement on the roads. Temperatures will be noticeably warmer on Sunday with a slight chance of snow.
