Today will turnout to be the nicest day of the week for the state. Temperatures are near normal and there is hardly a breeze. Cloud cover will build into Tuesday with some areas getting away with mostly sunny skies. A weak disturbance hits the southeast Wednesday morning. Alamogordo and Carlsbad have a chance to pick up one or two showers before noon.
We are tracking two low pressure systems this week. Thanksgiving is the first one. This looks to bring expansive cloud cover across New Mexico. Precipitation will be mostly in the northern mountains and near Four Corners. This storm will not be particularly cold so mountain valleys will pick up some spot rain showers. You won’t need four-wheel drive unless you’re headed to a ski resort. The next low-pressure system is Saturday. We know this system will be much colder. What we don’t know is the amount of snow the northern mountains will receive or the exact timing.
