WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to return to northern, central and western New Mexico this afternoon into the overnight hours. A= backdoor cold front will begin to make its way into the northeast late today, which will create a rain/snow mix into northern and northeast NM overnight. Temps will top out in the upper-60s in the ABQ-metro with the rest of the state in the 50s, 60s and 70s. A few low-80s are possible in the southeast.
THURSDAY: Snow showers will continue over the Northern Mountains and northeast behind the backdoor cold front with isolated rain showers elsewhere. Highs will continue to drop with most areas in the 50s & 60s. The winds will increase for the ABQ-metro beind the backdoor cold front as it squeezes through the canyon. Gusts will exceed 40mph.
FRIDAY: Scattered to widespread showers will develop over the state — shaping up to be a cool, wet and soggy finish to the work week.
