Christopher’s Thursday Afternoon Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

TODAY: Temps will be above normal again with today being the warmest day of the week. Highs will top out in the 60s, 70s and 80s across NM with a few low 90s possible. Fire danger will be high across the east due to the warm, dry & breezy conditions.

FRIDAY: The winds will pickup with gusts of 25-35mph expected. The east could see winds in excess of 45mph. Temps will begin to cool across western and central NM behind a weak Pacific cold front.

THIS WEEKEND: A strong backdoor cold front will push northeast to southwest on Saturday. This backdoor cold front will knock 20-30 degrees off afternoon highs in the Eastern Plains. Strong east canyon winds will accompany this front into the ABQ-metro with temps down to the low 60s to close out the weekend. A few snow showers are possible across the NE on Saturday behind the front. Sunday may be active across NM. A closed-low may develop, which would lead to widespread precip & cool temps. More details as we get closer.
