January 5th–A storm moving inland across California will race east impacting New Mexico tonight through Sunday. The primary impacts tonight are increasing clouds and gusty winds but precipitation should begin to break out for western parts of New Mexico late tonight. The metro could see a rain/snow mix early in the day on Sunday. The storm will move across the state late Sunday, which will increase snow chances for the northern mountains and western high terrain. The west and southwest facing slopes of the northern mountains may see upwards of 6-12″ of snow. No accumulations are expected for the metro. Partly sunny skies and moderating temperatures are in the forecast as we head into next week.
