Christopher’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Weather Video Forecast

MONDAY: A strong storm approaching the SW will pull up significant moisture out ahead of it into New Mexico. Rain and spotty storms will spread out over the state with the potential for a few strong storms in south-central/southeast NM. Above 9500ft, heavy snow is likely. Afternoon temperatures will top out in the 50s, 60s and 70s statewide.

TUESDAY: The rain & thunderstorms will increase on Tuesday with mountain snow continuing north. There will be enough energy for severe thunderstorms in eastern NM. It looks like large hail and damaging winds are the main threats.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY: A cold front sweeping over the state will convert rain to snow over western and northern NM. The rain may change to snow in the Albuquerque metro as temps fall. Winds will also be on the increase. Thursday will be even cooler than Wednesday with afternoon highs in the 30s, 40s and 50s. A few lingering snow showers are possible across the north.
