January 11th 2019 – Afternoon rain and snow will continue over northern and eastern NM. Additional accumulations will range between 1-3″ below 7500ft / +3″ in the higher terrain. Saturday will feature leftover snow showers in the Northern Mountains but clearing expected elsewhere. Temps will remain cool on Saturday despite the clearing skies (mostly 30s, 40s and 50s).
Our next storm will arrive late Saturday into Sunday bringing more rain and snow to the state. This storm isn’t quite as strong but with colder air in the area, more snow and less rain is expected to close out the weekend. Afternoon highs will bottom out in the low 40s in downtown Albuquerque on Sunday and a rain/snow mix is possible in the metro. High pressure building over the state on Monday will allow for drier conditions, more sunshine and a gradual warm up to start our next work week.
