Christopher’s Friday Afternoon Forecast

Video Forecast

Sunshine is making a return Friday afternoon for most of New Mexico. Temperatures will climb 5°-15° above seasonal averages allowing most of NM to finish off the work week in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Far northeastern parts of New Mexico will remain a little cooler due to a backdoor cold front that has snuck into that area.

Our next storm in the series arrives late Friday night into Saturday. This storm will bring snow showers to northwest and northern NM through midday Saturday — potential accumulations: 1″ -3″ for lower elevations / 3″-6″ high terrain. Those of us furhter south will see a mix of sun and clouds plus more wind. In addition, the cold front attached to this system will begin dropping temps Saturday afternoon with the ABQ-metro falling more than 5° from Friday’s temps. Expect the cooling trend to continue through middle of next week.

A stronger and colder storm looks to make waves early next week with widespread snow, colder temps and windy conditions Monday into Tuesday.
