Cooler air filling in behind Tuesday’s front will give us a relatively cooler afternoon on Wednesday. Expect high temperatures to top out in the 50s, 60s and 70s… a good 5° to 25° cooler than Tuesday (most noticeable drop in temps in southeast NM). Low clouds blanketing the Eastern Plains Wednesday morning will mix out by the early afternoon hours, giving way to a mostly to partly sunny sky for the rest of the day. A few spot showers may develop over eastern NM but coverage and intensity will be limited.
Our next warming trend will kick in on Thursday but won’t last very long as yet *another cold is expected to drop into the state late Thursday. Very similar to the cold front we had earlier in the week, Thursday night will favor strong east canyon winds over the ABQ-metro with cooler temps to follow. A few spot storms may fire up along the front as it moves into the state.
