High pressure sliding nearby will push in slightly drier conditions Tuesday. Although clouds won’t totally disappear, expect a bit more sunshine Tuesday afternoon compared to Monday’s gray skies. Afternoon highs will take a noticeable jump as well with temperatures in the 50s, 60s and 70s statewide. Albuquerque usually nears 60° this time of year — Tuesday’s forecast high: 63°.
An uptick in cloud cover and showers is expected across western NM as a storm system off the West Coast pushes moisture out ahead of it. Spotty to scattered showers will favor western and northern NM beginning Wednesday night into Thursday (high mountain snow is also expected). The Albuquerque-metro area will see an increase in cloud cover Thursday with only a slight chance at a few spot showers.
Along with the increase in moisture, stronger winds will rip across the state as the mentioned storm deepens out west. Expect breezy to windy conditions to take over late week… and continue over the weekend as another storm moves into the area.
Afternoon highs will stay above average in the low to mid 60s through the start of the weekend in the Albuquerque area.
