High pressure sliding over the state with help warm temperatures near to above average over the next several afternoons. Expect Albuquerque’s afternoon temps to push low 60s on Tuesday… eventually climbing to the mid-70s by Thursday. Mostly to partly sunny conditions will blanket the state through midweek.

Winds will be relatively light over the next coming days… that is until our next scraper storm moves in late Thursday. Expect winds to increase Thursday into Friday, consequently, raising fire danger concerns late week as well. Those within northwest NM and southern CO will be favored for a brief bout of rain and high mountain snow on Thursday.

The mentioned storm will clear the state for the weekend leaving behind a mix of sun and clouds and mild temperatures Saturday and Sunday.

Rain, snow falls across New Mexico Wednesday

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) - More rain and snow is coming down in southern, western, and central New Mexico this morning. There is a chance for some light snow in Bernalillo, Valencia, and Socorro counties through the commute. This afternoon will be drier with partly sunny skies. More rain will move into southwest New Mexico by around 5 p.m. Winds will be breezy in the east mountains and plains this afternoon, gusting 30-40 mph. The rest of the state will be relatively calm.

Rain will spread north into New Mexico tonight and tomorrow morning, bringing more chances for scattered showers on Thursday. With the southerly flow, temperatures will be warming up the next couple of days.

Chance for rain in SW New Mexico

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The storm system that brought powerful winds and snow to New Mexico overnight is now backing to the west off the California coast. The storm will sit there over the next 36 hours. There will be enough moisture for clouds and a spot shower but conditions should be mainly dry.

The storm will weaken and push through the state on Thursday spreading lowland showers and mountain snow showers. By the weekend another storm will move in spreading snow over northern New Mexico by Sunday.

Snow tapers off across the state Tuesday afternoon

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Snow will taper off through this evening across New Mexico with another storm system later this week. The latest winter storm is ending across New Mexico as rain and snow are tapering off from south to north. Temperatures will be chilly this afternoon. Skies will remain cloudy through the day though as winds will die down by tonight. Wednesday will bring warmer temperatures with a break between storm systems and some sunshine returning.

Our next storm moves in Thursday with with rain and mountain snow chances for areas along and south of I-40. The best potential for measurable rainfall will be for southwestern and southern New Mexico. This round of moisture will end by early Friday morning, but yet another storm system will begin to move into northwestern New Mexico and southwestern Colorado Friday.
