Kristen’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

Tuesday will play out very similar to Monday as strong winds and high fire danger return to the state. Southwest winds will reach 15-25mph by late afternoon… with gusts as high as 50mph within the Northeast Plains. Red Flag Warnings have been reissued for all of NM (expect for the Northwest Plateau and Northern Mountains) due to critical fire concerns. Afternoon highs will be a few degrees cooler compared to what we had to start the week but still near average in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Our next big weather maker will come in the form of a Pacific storm crossing northwest NM late Tuesday through Thursday. Scattered showers will spread out over northwest NM and southern Colorado late Tuesday and continue on and off through Wednesday. Mountain snow is likely with this system — snow level: +9000ft. Breezy to windy conditions will continue through Wednesday afternoon. Expect temperatures to be much cooler through midweek as most of us fall short of average.
