Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Hot temperatures continue Thursday afternoon with most of us well into the 80s, 90s and low 100s under a sunny sky. Breezy to windy conditions will kick in on Thursday as well. This uptick in winds and unseasonably warm temps will result in high fire danger across west-central and northeast NM — a RED FLAG WARNING has been issued from 3PM to 7PM Thursday.

Critical fire danger will extend across most of New Mexico on Friday. Expect RED FLAG WARNINGS to stretch across the majority of the state as strong winds (+20mph) and dry conditions (RH <10%) result in increased fire concerns. Afternoon highs will remain above average for the remainder of the work week.

Cooler temps will arrive just in time for the weekend — expect highs to cool to the mid-80s in the ABQ-metro area. Sunshine and breezy to windy conditions will continue (*particularly Saturday).
