Kristen’s Friday Morning Forecast

Weather

Although winds will not be nearly as awful as what ripped across the state Thursday, windy conditions will still be found in areas east of the Central Mountains on Friday afternoon (25-35mph / gusting to 60mph). Lighter winds will be felt within central and western NM (10-20mph).

Afternoon highs will be a few degrees cooler to finish the work week with Friday’s highs topping out in the low 60s in the Albuquerque-metro. A brief warming trend will kick in Saturday before getting cut short Sunday.

Increasing winds can be expected Saturday afternoon with another round of strong to dangerous winds likely Sunday. This comes as yet another Pacific storm crosses the area. Most areas can expect a major wind event Sunday afternoon…. but those in northern and western NM will want to prep for another round of rain and snow. A few spotty rain showers are likely to even make it into the Rio Grande Valley.

We’ll finish the weekend and start next week with cooler temperatures (slightly below average).
