A ridge of high pressure will allow for plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures across the state. The warm up will continue through the middle of the workweek. Many areas will be near record highs on Wednesday. Thursday remains warm, but winds start to pick up ahead of the next storm system.
That storm system will scrape northern New Mexico late Thursday into Friday. Winds will be in excess of 50 mph across much of the state. The best shot at showers will be across southern Colorado, leading to high fire danger for all of New Mexico. On the back end of the storm, much cooler air blasts in for Friday. But the cool down will be short lived as temperatures rebound with another ridge building in for the weekend.
