It’s going to be another dry afternoon across New Mexico. With warm temperatures and occasionally breezy conditions, the fire danger will be elevated this afternoon. The good news is that a back door cold front will work its way across the state this weekend, opening the door for moisture to expand across the state. The east will have the best shot at showers and storms this weekend.
Early next week, the moisture expands into central and western New Mexico. This will give much of the state their best shot at showers in weeks. One concern will be the possibility of dry lightning in some of the drier thunderstorms.
