Mayor Keller files ethics complaint against Bernalillo County sheriff
Mayor Tim Keller's re-election campaign filed an ethics complaint against one of his opponent's, Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales. The complaint alleges Gonzales personally told a voter that he did not have to pay the $5 contribution when signing his petition to qualify for public financing. Instead, he allegedly stated his campaign would cover it, which is a violation of Albuquerque election law. A Gonzales campaign official called this a baseless claim.
