Westbound I-40 reopened near Route 66 Casino after fatal head-on crash

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office tweeted Sunday afternoon that all westbound traffic on Interstate 40, west of Albuquerque at Mile Marker 143 near Route 66 Casino, had been closed due to a head-on collision. Officials say two people are dead and another person is in critical condition. At 6:25 p.m., westbound lanes were reopened.
