ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – I-40 has reopened following a closure that shut down both directions at Coors Blvd. on Friday, Dec. 17. The Albuquerque Police Department reported that a police situation caused the closure which occurred during morning rush hour traffic.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation reports the closure has since ended. The situation was reportedly caused by a man threatening to jump onto the freeway from the overpass.

Police have cleared the area.
