NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Transportation is cracking down on campaign signs illegally placed along highways. State law prohibits signposting of any kind on the state-maintained right of ways. NMDOT says any item that impedes the roadway can be considered a safety issue for drivers and will be removed by workers.
