ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened Monday morning at Louisiana and Copper just north of Central. A call came in just before 6:00 a.m. reporting a crash between a semi and a motorcycle.
Officials say the motorcycle was heading north on Louisiana in the right lane and the semi was stopped at a stop sign, facing west on Copper. The semi made a right turn onto Louisiana and crossed all northbound lanes, which caused the motorcyclist to crash into the front driver’s side of the semi.
New Mexico State Police were called to conduct an investigation on the semi. Speed or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
